I got tagged by my very good friend Kira to do this, I will link her YouTube channel and the Book Tag video below!
I love doing book tags, I think it's really interesting to know other peoples book opinions, it also gives you a slight glance into their life and who they might be as a person, what they might think or feel, just based upon their reading.
Here are the links for Kira's videos and I will get right into the tag!

Question One
Name a book that you stayed up all night to read
I read The Duff : Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger in one day, which included reading well into the night. I just couldn't put it down, I'm not sure what it was that had me so hooked but I was completely obsessed with it. It might have been the chemistry between the two main characters, it was strong. I wasn't overly fond of Bianca and Wesley individually but when you put them together? there's fireworks.
Question Two
A book with a dark cover that you own
A lot of the books I own have dark covers on, but to pick just one I'll go with Fifty Shades of Grey by E L James, I haven't actually read this yet but I look forward to doing so.
Question Three
Name a book with an owl character or an owl on the cover
I don't own a book with an owl on the cover, a very disappointing response, forgive me!
Question Four
Name a book with night in the title
This would have to be The Night Fire by Michael Connelly, which is yet another book I have yet to read, i'm slacking... but it's 500 pages and I'm very lazy, I'll get there one day!
Question Five
Name your favourite childhood story/book
I was a big reader as a child, they obviously weren't big books but they did include a lot of Dr Seuss and Roald Dahl, I used to read them with my grandma which is such a lovely memory to look back on. My favourite story of Dr Seuss was The Sneeches. My favourite Roald Dahl stories include The Twits, Fantastic Mr Fox and Georges Marvellous Medicine.
Here are a few others : The Sly Fox and the Little Red Hen by Vera Southgate, Dame Trot and her Pig retold by Judy Hamilton, Shock Headed Peter by Heinrich Hoffmann and Elmer by David McKee.
(I plan to do a post about children's book in the near future)
Question Six
Name a book that has a dark setting
The Surgeon by Tess Gerritsen. I remember when I read it I was hooked, it's such a disturbing and twisted read, but that is my preferred style of crime novel. It was instantly gripping and it's as though, when reading it, I fell through a rabbit hole into a dark, cold world. That's how intense and powerful it was to read The Surgeon, in my opinion.
Question Seven
Name a book that has chapters set during the night
I think I'll have to go with Midnight Sun by Trish Cook. The main character has a rare disease that makes exposure to the sun, even the smallest amount, deadly. So most of the scenes take place at night when she can actually leave her house.
Question Eight
Name a book that has a dark plot line or ending
The boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne. This book is about a nine year old boy and his family moving from Berlin to move closer to a concentration camp where his father has been made commandment. Bruno, the boy, is lonely and travels a long way to a fence, where he meets shmuel, an auschwitz prisoner and they become fast friends.
My reasoning for this book is that it is obviously dark, it was a tragic time in history for Jewish people and Auschwitz victims. But the ending to this book is extremely dark, and very sad.
Bruno decides to cross under the fence to be with shmuel in Auschwitz, only to then be shoved into a gas chamber and killed, his family run after him after discovering where he has gone but it's too late.
Question Nine
Midnight snack of choice
Okay, this is the hardest question to answer yet. I love eating..
It really depends on my mood, if I'm watching a film I like to go for popcorn or if im feeling savoury then left over pizza, or a Pot Noodle. But if I'm reading then it will most likely be something sweet and easy like Oreos, or Pink Panther biscuits.
Question Ten
What drink will keep you up all night
There isn't a drink that will do this. I'm immune to caffeine, I could chug one of those gigantic red bulls and then pass out, it's happened more than I care to say.
Anyone is more than welcome to participate in this tag! I've linked the previous videos above so there is all the necessary information available.
Thanks for reading!
